Darling Diva Polish - Sara and Wild Heart

Hi Goddesses

Oh, it was all going so well ... and then the wheels have fallen off again.  I am thoroughly sick of being sick at the moment.  I caught the flu 8 weeks ago and still have a rotten cough.  In an epic bout of coughing, I now appear to have broken my armpit, so every sneeze, cough and noseblow is agony.  All I want to do is paint my nails, yet all I really want to do is curl up in a ball and sleep.   Upshot?   Who knows when my regular schedule will return - in the meantime, I'll just do bits and bobs when I can :(

Today's post is lovely though.  Another 2 polishes from Darling Diva, and a little bitta stamping too.

Let's start with Sara.  In the bottle, this was "meh", another gold holo.  On the nail, totally different story.   This is honey gold, liquid nectar, so soft, so delicious, rather than a brash brassy gold.

It's the subtlety of the colour that makes this one a winner.  I can't overstress the honey in this.  I almost wouldn't call it gold.

I then stamped over it with this great honeycomb pattern from MoYou Pro 2, and I love it even more!  Pattern and polish mesh beautifully.

What I love most is how the stamping makes me look like I have been cleverer than I have.  The pattern interrupts the holo, and accidentally makes some hexagons a different tone to the next one - utterly brilliant.  I really love this stamped.

Wild Heart is the least me of all the polishes in this White Witch Collection.  It's a brown holo, and I am not a fan of browns at all.

Interestingly, this is a really warm brown, a bit chestnut, a bit russet, a bit wild animal - I don't think even brown holo lovers will already own one like this.

For fun, I did some squiggly lines on the accent nails over OPI MVIB.  Beth's verdict?  "Mum, you need a ruler to make them straighter" ...... sheesh.

Guest Post - Claire from Nuthin But A Nail Thing

Hi Goddesses

Today's Guest blogger is awesome.  She regularly has me in awe of her skills, whether it's dots, tape, leopard or gradients.  Claire from Nuthin But A Nail Thing - take it away!

Hello!  I am utterly thrilled to have been asked again to do a guest post for the flipping fabulous Crumpet...!  It is such an honour, so thank you very much.  And again, a massive thank you from me for being such a giving and generous part of the nail polish community.  You are a star. So, onto the manicure!  I was wracking my brains for something to do, and well...I'm nothing if not predictable, so yep; striping tape gradient it is!

I decided as spring has sprung, it'd be nice to go with a massive rainbow of pastel/bright colours... bring a little bit of the sunshine in!  I started off with a white base, added the striping tape and then gradient-a-go-go! To finish, I also added some diamantes, because, well, you can't beat a bit of the ol' bling, can you?

I hope you liked my manicure, and once again, thank you so much Debbie for letting me have a little space on your blog, it is really kind of you.

Darling Diva Polish - If Anyone Falls and Stand Back from The White Witch Collection

Hi Goddesses

Ok, are you ready?  Are you truly truly ready?  If you thought you'd seen some gorgeous polishes so far this week, nothing is going to blow your socks off like today's pairing.   IFF and SB are both purples - but opposites.

We start with If Anyone Falls, an incredibly delicious and rich purple, built on a warm brown base and just absolutely spectacular.

I just can't get enough of staring at this polish.  It's so perfect and insanely amazing.   The bend is deep on this one too, giving it a fathomless quality.

As you know, I own a lot of purple holos, so it's getting harder for any to really blow me away, but both of these 2 have managed it.

In the first set of photos, you may have noticed the accent nail looked different.  Well that's because it was the OTHER purple - Stand Back - which takes its base from blue, rather than brown.

They look beautiful in contrast together, and SB has a sizzle that IFF can't quite manage.  To be honest, both polishes are awesome, but SB probably just has it in the comparison stakes.

I also tried a little bit of stamping, just to see how well these worked on the silver plate, and as you can see, the results were great.  I'm not sure they would be as strong over a dark background, but I was really pleased with how crisp the stamping was.

So, if you could only pick one of these purples, which one would it be?

(Luckily, you can buy them both HERE mwahahaha.  These polishes were sent to me for an honest review.)
