Tri Polish Challenge - Firework Flowers

Hi Goddesses

Wow, it’s nearly Friday!  Where did this week GO?  It’s been a whirlwind at work, so I’m quite glad for the chance to just chill this weekend, especially as my naughtiness levels have reached new heights and there might be 20 new holos in da house.  Ooooooops.

Today’s mani again uses the trio of Barry Ms – Blood Orange, Blackberry and Shocking Pink, over a base of w7 White.   I decided to give the w7 a whirl because I am a bit worried about the speed with which I am attacking OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls, and I have to say, I was quite impressed.  This will probably now be my go to white nail art polish, and at £2, how can you say no?

I then stamped using this pattern on BM02.  Interesting fact about how my mind works – this plate also contains the lips I used for the Back In Time mani at the weekend, and I looked at it and thought, “ooooh, flowers, layered over each other, interesting”.  And that’s what it took to create this mani lol.

I was attracted by the layering, and the fact that the stamp is not too solid, but once I put it on my nails, I stopped.  ARE they flowers?  Or are they fireworks?  I really hope they’re flowers, because I have been whinging for 2 years that I don’t have a plate with fireworks on.  I’ll be really pissed if I’ve secretly owned one all this time!

This doesn’t look quite how I imagined it in my head, but I still like it.  I hoped for more layering, but the design is a little big for that.

Don’t forget to check out what everybody else is up to.  Enjoy xx

Summer Challenge Day 2: The Chelsea Flower Show

Hi Goddesses

So here we are, Day 2 of the challenge, and it's ALSO a stamping mani, so it covers off today's Stamping Week post too :)

The Chelsea Flower Show is a big deal in certain circles in the UK.  It's where posh flower loving types come together to oooh and aaaah and sniff the bouquet of classic blooms and new blooms, and there's always some D list celebs on hand for the photo opps!

Basically today was a great excuse for a flower mani, and I decided to go in a different direction and do it all using stamps.   Rather than using 1 flower based print, I picked about 4 single bloom patterns - with varying success.

Somewhere in the mix you have BM02 (using CG Life Preserver), Konad M51 (using Nails Inc Malibu Cosmo, a surprising success), Cheeky CH7 (the metallic aqua one, one of the SH Chromes) and finally, the best one of all, Cheeky CH2 using Konad red - see, doesn't using a Konad make a MASSIVE difference ?

A little shout out for the base too, Barielle's Myrza's Meadow, the most beautiful soft creamy green laden with holo particles.  Really beautiful.

This one is a mixed success for me - definitely loving the red bloom the most.

Don't forget to check out what all the other talented ladies are up to - and enjoy xxx :)

Anti - Valentine

Hi Goddesses

I have been wanting to do an anti-Valentines mani for a couple of weeks now, but the stampers kept voting against me lol.  Finally, finally, I decided what I wanted to do, and created this - a Goth's Valentine mani.

This is 2 coats of OPI Black Onyx, sponged over 50% of the nail with Pure Ice Kiss Me Here (a medium dark grey), dabbed in places with Nicky Minaj / OPI Metallic 4 Life and then stamped with Konad red polish and BM02.  You can't easily tell in in all the photos, but the stamp is hot red lips.

Phew!  That's a long list of ingredients.  If it's not totally obvious by now, I have fallen in love with sponging.  It instantly adds another dimension as well as allowing you to regress to the joy of a 3 yr old plonking with a potato.

I digress .....  I almost wish I had taken a photo of this before I put the lips on, because it looked FIERCE.   The most interesting thing was how the grey looked matte after the sponging, and then Metallic 4 Life glossed it back up AND made it go black.  Seriously, this was perfect underwear for a galaxy mani.

This was a bugger to photograph, and I'm slightly disappointed the lips don't look more prominent.  It's the first time I've used a proper Konad polish, and I had no idea how thick it was.  I was thus primed for stamping perfection .... guess I shouldn't have tried to stamp over a black galaxy.

Ho hum, I am still loving this in a black and twisted way.   It perhaps just needs a dash of barbed wire or a safety pin to make it perfectly Goth :)

Enjoy xx  :)
