China Glaze Prismatics - Full Spectrum

Hi Goddesses

Yay, it's the last one !!  Lol.  I do like these Prismatics, but scraping off 6 lots of grit in 2 days?  Brutal, brutal.

This is Full Spectrum, the pink one, and I guess this one is exactly what it says on the tin.  There is a LOT of pink going on, from the paler base to the scattered glitter - I feel I see less variety in this one, but it could just be a trick of the light.

I think this looks best over the 2 nails that had bases - the index had Color Club Jack n Jill, and the ring finger has Zoya Dawn.

This is very Disney Princess pink, very ballet pink, and whilst it looks cute, it's just not a colour I would personally wear.  I don't know whether I'm running out of things to say or whether this one just entrances me less than the others.  It's certainly my personal loser of the set lol.

So, one more post to go - the round up.  What do you think of them so far?

Emjoy xx :)

China Glaze Prismatics - Liquid Crystal

Hi Goddesses

Right, before we get started, let me tell you how this is gonna go, okay?  Yesssss, there is flipping glitter everywhere, and all round my nail and yessss, I have tried to remove it, but d'you know what, you're just not gonna notice ok, cos Crumpet is tired, and this is the 5th dance with the glitter devil in 2 days, and I have 1 more Prismatic to go and I just can't take it sob any sob more !!!!

Jeez this glitter is driving me wild.  It's everywhere.  And why doesn't it come off with polish remover and a brush - why does it require a chisel or a jackhammer to remove it?   Why ??  Why, it makes no sense.  Why be so pretty and yet so stubborn, why?

Deep breath, Crumpet, deep breath.   Phew.  Actually, this, Liquid Crystal, aka the blue one, is the prettiest of all 5.  It really is.

This is an icy blue (I sooooo wish they'd released these before Christmas) that is predominantly scattered with pink glitter.  The pink in this is most boisterous, and makes for a dramatic combination.

There are 2 coats on every nail - index has Essie Borrowed & Blue as underwear and ring has OPI Ogre The Top Blue (and looks pretty damned sensational, I'd say).

This is the fox of the collection.  This is the looks demure but then flirts like a cougar glitter, the "I'm made of ice but my knickers are made of fire" of the collection - it's icy yet racy, cold yet minxy.  I love all its contradictions.

This is by far my favourite of the 5 so far - I'm going to stop, but honestly, I could go on for a fair while yet!

The final one is the pink, and then we'll do a good ole round up post.

Enjoy xx :)

China Glaze Prismatics - Polarized

Hi Goddesses

Polarized is the 4th of the 6 Prismatics - this is the "silver" of the collection.

Before we describe it, I have a very important public service announcement.  Under no circumstances should you attempt to take out a contact lens whilst wearing these sharp scratchy buggers ..... or scratch a sensitive place.   Owchie owchie ooooh is all I will say on that.

So, yes, Polarized.  Being the silver one, I actually think this does the best job of showing up the colours of the other glitter - they are certainly more obvious.  The silver itself is really bright and shiny white, and against it you can see the ENTIRE rainbow in glitter form.

The index finger this time has a base of SH White On, and again, the ring fnger has a base of OPI Black Onyx.

This really is a sensational crazy party glitter, and I am really impressed by how many different colours are in it.

Removal wise, these have been fairly standard.  I still think Lippmanns are the hardest to remove, and these aren't as bad as those, but you do need to wrap your fingers in soaked cotton wool to have a chance of getting your fingers REALLY clean.

So, just 2 left, the blue and the pink - see you tomorrow!

Enjoy xx :)

China Glaze Prismatics - Ray-diant

Hi Goddesses

So here we are, with the 3rd of the 6 Prismatics.  Ladies, this is Ray-diant, aka the "gold" one.

This is a very subtle champagne gold rather than an out and out gold.  It's a silvery goldy mix rather than a really yellow gold.   This has got the whole rainbow in the bottle going on too, and creates a really dramatic effect.

I don't know about you, but I see an underlying green tone in some of these pictures, giving it a very antiquey sort of feel. This is also the base that has best shown the colours of the glitters - pink, orange, blue, green - everything is in here.

This is 2 coats again, and this time we have a base of CG Pelican Grey on the index finger and OPI Black Onyx on the ring finger.   I am actually really liking it over the black - this would make a fabulous accent nail in any mani.  And thanks to the lights of my local supermarket, I can confirm that this one DOES have a duochrome effect, swishng between gold and green.

And now a forthcoming apology - I am wearying of these glitters.  Not because I don't like them, I dooooo, but because herpes has struck!   To be fair, they weren't majorly hard to remove, but boy were there a million little tinycles of glitter EVERYWHERE.   And do you know what?   They Come Back!  Yes, remove the herpes, blink, and WFT, there they are again!  Lol.  So my currently ability to describe this particular polish is severely weighted by the knowledge I'm going to be taking it off in the next 10 minutes.  Give me strength!

Anyway, thumbs up, enjoy, and see you next time with the silver xxx  :)

China Glaze - Optical Illusion

Hi Goddesses

Today we have the 2nd polish from China Glaze's Prismatics Collex - Optical Illusion.

This is the "green" of the bunch, but it's quite a muted silvery aqua-ish green rather than a full on green.

Again, this is crammed with all sorts of crazy colours - silver, orange, pink, darker green - there's a whole mermaid's convention going on in that bottle!

One thing I forgot to mention yesterday was the application.  Some glitters are notorious for being "hard to spread".  Not these.  Just plop 'em on like a normal polish.  The glitter distributes perfectly - No Dabbing Required!

As before, this is mainly 2 coats of the Prismatic.  This time I have 1 coat of Essie School of Hard Rocks and 1 coat of OI on the index finger, and on the ring finger it's 1 coat of Zoya Dree, then 1 coat of OI (I wanted to test it over a cold green and a warm green respectively).

Also, if anyone's wondering, these are TOTALLY different to the OPI Muppets glitters (which I hated).  They were sparse, spread like snot and looked nasty whether they were on their own or on top of a colour, AND they had larger particles.  These Prismatics are unlike them in any way (except Excuse Moi, which was the odd one out of the Muppets bunch, being a much smaller glitter size).

Elizabeth will kill me, but I'm not sure how much I love this one, although I do like it a lot more where it's layered as it hots the green up a notch or too.  I love the mermaid tones tho, and I have a sneaky feeling this could be a grower.

Enjoy xx :)
