Digit-al Dozen DOES Animal Week - Neon Giraffe

Hi Goddesses

A very striking animal print for you today :)

I quite like creating animals that don't exist in nature - it fulfills some very childish urge in me - and seriously, if you saw these lumbering towards you, you'd be reaching for your sunglasses!

This is another China Glaze Neon gradient, featuring I'm With The Lifeguard and Splish Splash.  The gradient is delberately coarse - I used one of those "natural" bath sponges that have a lot of holes in them, to try to stop the blue from dominating the mani.

So, what do you think?  There's certainly nothing subtle going on here lol.

Don't forget to check out the other awesome ladies - enjoy xx :)

China Glaze Neons and MJ2 Stamping Plate Skittle

Hi Goddesses

I've been a very lucky puppy recently.   One of my best friends shipped me a huge box of China Glaze neon and ElectroPop loveliness; Bundle Monster and Cheeky released new plates; and the lovely Meann from My Online Shop did an awesome swap with me, where I ended up with most of the stamping plates I had been lemming.

With the changes I am planning for the blog, I had pretty much decided how I was going to approach this divine dilemma, and as this week's Adventures In Stamping theme is "my favourite new plate" I thought I would start my exciting journey with a skittle based on the MJ2 plate, which is crammed with awesomeness!

My nails are CG Neon.  Mostly.  I got a little confused and 1 or 2 ElectroPops may have snuck into the mani.  Here are your pairings, all done using a smooth make-up sponge.  Tip - always start with your lightest colour.  Some nails were sponged on the bottom, others on the top.

* thumb - Flirty Tankini and Beach Cruise-r
* index - I'm With The Lifeguard & Splish Splash
 * middle - Orange You Hot & Make Some Noise
* ring - Hang-ten Toes & Ride The Waves
* pinkie - Sunshine Pop & Surfin For Boys

I absolutely loved the results.  As I'm not a perfectionist, I am perfectly cool with having every nail a different colour or pattern, and everyone from Beth to the girls at work enjoyed picking out their favourite stamp.  Unanimous verdict on the middle finger by the way - love the squiggliness.

The thumb has a broken-hearted pattern, it's actually turtles on the index finger, but not a single one centred, so it's hard to tell; squiggles; skull and crossbones on the ring finger and a harlequin pattern on the pinkie.

I used Accessorize Jewel for the stamping, and it worked perfectly.

Enjoy - which was your favourite?  xx :)

Summer Challenge Day 35 - Summer Lovin

Hi Goddesses

This is one of those challenges which SEEMED such a good idea when I was putting the challenge together lol, but in reality, well, what does Summer Lovin MEAN ??

Obviously it makes me start singing my fave Grease song EVER, but that's not really what it's about, is it ?   I was super stumped for ideas, and then hit on the idea of holiday romances ..... so here we go .....

This started as a China Glaze Neon skittle - Splish Splash on the thumb, then Sunshine Pop, Orange You Hot?, Hang-ten Toes, and Aquadelic on the pinkie.  Yes, Aquadelic is not a neon, it's from the Brights Collex, but it's pretty ....

Then they all had a layer of a lovely Lush Lacquer polish which now was a different name and has to be referred to as Flippin Out.  Whatever, it's a great happy, sunny, summer mani type of glitter - a total rainbow.

I then turned to this strange stamp in the new Bundle Monster set - it's BM-310.  When it first came out, I had no clue whatsoever what it was, til Kirsten pointed out to me that it was the male / female symbols ...... ah!  yes !!!  hence .... summer rumpy pumpy lovin !!!

I stamped, as I always do, with Konad White.  I've said it before and I'll say it again - I wish I had just caved and bought this from the start.  I get too frustrated to faff around with trying to stamp with other colours.   Each to their own, but I would seriously recommend that if you're dabbling with stamping you set yourself up with a Konad white and a Konad black.

And that, goddesses, is Summer Lovin :)  Enjoy xxx
